Lawrence Kansas

Phone: 785 863 2857 / 785 979 4682

$150 postmarked by December 26th; $180 after 12/26/05

There are many aspects of modern life that numb our connection to inner and outer life, diminishing our ability to quicken our potentiality and to manifest our lifes purpose.  Whether we suffer from stress in our jobs and professional lives, from strains and rifts in our relationships with others, or simply from a sense of not finding fulfillment in life, its possible to experience the pain of separation from our truest sense of self, from our community of family and friends, and from the sacred.

There are many modes of awakening.  In this workshop, participants will be given tools that will help them awaken to the dynamics of the subtle heart, to the nature of the soul and to their relationship with the sacred.  As individuals awaken, they become aware of the unity of all of life and develop a deep appreciation for the unique contribution that each individual and community makes to the whole.

The Tools for Awakening presented in this workshop are for everybody because awakening is available regardless of ones religious or spiritual path.  These tools are designed to help participants more consciously relate to and support their awakening process, thereby having a life of enjoyment and fulfillment.

You are invited to awaken to greater dimensions of inner and outer life through:

Understanding the dynamics of the subtle heart
Realizing the nature of the soul
Exploring your relationship with sacred community
Experiencing the unity of life

Fifth International Conference on Enlightenment La Fonda Hotel

Santa Fe New Mexico

Website: https://www.bizspirit.com/TriCon/enlightenment/e_index.html

"One of the most basic human experiences, one that is genuinely universal and unites -- or, more precisely, could unite -- all of humanity, is the experience of transcendence in the broadest sense of the word."
-- Vclav Havel, former President, Czech Republic

In 1999, we launched the International Conference on Science and Consciousness. This unique conference is a forum for the exploration of consciousness from the scientific and spiritual perspectives.

At the end of the first conference, Jeffrey Mishlove, President of the Intuition Network and host of Public Televisions Thinking Allowed, said There has been a tendency for conferences that have the name science in the title to be very much in the head, and to have a kind of competitive edge, which scientists often have. But this event was very whole, very heart centered and very much needed by our culture at this time.

The International Conference on Enlightenment has evolved from this foundation. This conference will explore in a thoughtful manner the myriad of experiences that we call 'enlightenment.'

Each of us has experienced an enlightened state of consciousness at some time in our lives. Sometimes it can happen quite on its own, and come to us as a surprise. Sometimes people seek it out. It can be augmented through ingesting a substance, be the result of years of diligent discipline or happen by Grace. It is at the root of every spiritual and religious tradition.

People are having experiences now that are not explained by the old scientific paradigm, and we are called to reconsider our cultural view of reality.

This will be a gathering of incredible people, some traveling from the other side of the world to be part of this experience. As much happens outside of the formal sessions as during them.

Phone: Universal Awakening, 828-683-1219

A note from Munira Johne, Sabine.Johne@nwn.de

Himayat will lead a six day retreat on "Sacred Dialogue-Sacred Relationship"
in Southern France from July 3 - 8 2006.  Munira Johne, Daena Maria Bernhold, and Tansen Mundt welcome Himayat and all participants for the retreat in La Salindre Retreat Center - a garden of the soul. We are building up this place for individual and group retreat and for vacations in the peacefulness of unspoiled nature.  We are building the center in an atmosphere of openness and respect for the inspiration of the various spiritual traditions and for each person's own authentic path as well as a refuge place for people in times of transition who need to find new orientation.  Originally a Benedictine monastery founded in the 12th century, the old manor house is situated in the French Cevennes mountains, not far from the Mediterranean sea.

"Emergent Spirituality & Social Transformation" with Himayat Inayati Bothell, WA

Spirituality is an expression of human interaction with both the depth and the breadth of the field of life. As such it obviously cannot be something separate from life. In fact one might say it is the essence and fulfillment of life. Spirituality emerges afresh each instant.  Its present state is evoked by the need of the moment and the longing of the future.

Emergent Spirituality & Social Transformation is a two-day intensive that beckons us to collaborate with others in the greater web of being - to awaken to the sacred and nurture the fulfillment of personal and collective life. It offers participants an orientation to support transformation - individual, organizational, and societal - through the application of an integral map of human development and a compass pointing toward greater life.  The dynamics of presence, activation, awakening, buddh, vibration, creative imagination, spiritual realization, concentration, and manifestation will be explored. All are welcome, no matter their spiritual path, their path of social change, or their chosen lack thereof. What will be presented is not a spiritual nor an activist path but the essence of activation through spirituality.  No one need leave or join anything! Each is called to awaken more deeply to Reality.  Each is invited to plant their feet firmly on their chosen path and open their hearts, minds, and arms, to nurture the totality of life in its fulfillment.

Awakening In the Desert, A Five Day Retreat Led By Himayat Inayati Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico

Since the beginning of time humans sought spiritual renewal through contemplation in the desert.  Their aspirations have been nurtured by the austere beauty of the desert.  The awe filled encounter with the stars and the galaxies present in the desert night strongly beckoned their souls and the etheric atmosphere of the desert purified their minds and hearts.  Spiritual retreat is stepping outside of normative life to allow the unessential to die, making room for a fuller embodiment of the soul. There is a Sufi saying "Die before death and resurrect now!"  "Awakening in the Desert" will be a retreat process at the 26,000 desert acres of Ghost Ranch. This event will support awakening to your true nature, awakening to sacred community, and awakening to the Divine Desire as expressed through the totality of life. We hope you will join us at what promises to be a threshold experience!

Himayat Inayati Th.D., a well-known teacher of Sufism, is also an international spokesperson for Universal Awakening, a global initiative to awaken humanity to the sacredness within all of life.  His work, which offers a truly universal perspective of the sacred, is rooted in the teachings of the great world spiritual traditions and is informed by current research in science.  Himayat's style of teaching is lucid, practical, and experientially based.  Founder of the Raphaelite Work, a method of spiritual healing that utilizes presence, breath, and touch, Himayat is a catalyst for the transformational process in others. Himayat served as the international head of The Sufi Healing Order for twenty years.

Ghost Ranch is located in the midst of some of earth's most beautiful scenery.  The retreat center is located within 90 minutes of numerous sites including the grave of Sufi Murshid Sam Lewis at the Lama Foundation, the historic towns of Santa Fe and Taos, and Bandolier National Monument.

Developing the God Ideal Presented By Himayat Inayati Odyssey Community School, Asheville, North Carolina

"Neither is the Sufi's God abstract nor is He personal. It is all a process, through which the Sufi goes from the false to the real self. And before he arrives at the real self, his false self must be made a sacrifice. Before what? Before the ideal God he has made in his own self. When his false self is sacrificed then he goes further. Then it is not a personal God, then it is the abstract God. But where does one begin, and where does one end? One begins from the false self and ends in the real self." Hazrat Inayat Khan

Drawing upon 37 years of Sufi practice as taught by Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, Murshid Samuel Lewis, Sheikh Mansur Johnson, by Mevlana Jelaluddin Rumi and Sheikh al Akbar Ibn al Arabi, Himayat will present the essence of Sufi practice, with special emphasis on fundamental practices of developing the God Ideal and leading personal and group exploration to clarify that process.

The Light of Self Revelation with Himayat Inayati Hagen, Germany

Today most of us are incessantly mentally, emotionally, and physically active. Often we reach impasses, sometimes several times in a day, and we really don't know what to do. Just as often we react rather than act at those moments. Over the past several millennia, the Sufis have developed "kashf", a guiding light of the mind and heart. This light can be trained upon oneself to open the most impossibly dark spaces within, to bring one into spaces of great understanding and affirmation of life.  This light of self revelation will be the core theme of the retreat with Himayat, for not only are the chains that bind us to be found within, but the very keys that will liberate us are found there as well.

Himayat's teaching is known for its lucidity, practical application, compassion, and humour. You are invited to join us in what promises to be a deeply transformative moment.

Retreat: Till 30.11.2009    255-  EUR
From 01.12.2009    285-  EUR

Board and lodging:  285-EUR double room
The house lies in a beautiful countryside with sauna and swimming pool.

The Three Faces of God, Presented by Himayat Inayati Asheville, North Carolina - Odyssey School

"Neither is the Sufi's God abstract nor is He personal. It is all a process, through which the Sufi goes from the false to the real self. And before he arrives at the real self, his false self must be made a sacrifice. Before what? Before the ideal God he has made in his own self. When his false self is
sacrificed then he goes further. Then it is not a personal God, then it is the abstract God. But where does one begin, and where does one end? One begins from the false self and ends in the real self."
Hazrat Inayat Khan, 1926.

Today In the post-modern era humanity mostly relates to the absolute condition of God - or to the highest Self to be awakened within the individual.  These relationships offer tremendous resource for humanity has a collective, and for each individual, particularly in the difficult times we presently experience.  However, to a large degree the third face of God, (The Personal Lord) has been dropped as irrelevant to post-modern thinking. Through stories, practices, and presentation of Sufi teaching, Himayat will lead us in a two day intensive to carefully explore the relevance and meaning of all three faces of God - and how each of these three faces offers us tremendous support, life, and clarification in life.

Himayat has been a member of the Sufi Order International since 1972, receiving the sacred transmission of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel Lewis. Effortless Becoming, a retreat facilitated by Himayat Inayati Lasalindre Retreat Center, South of France

“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you,
even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Jesus

The great Sufi master Hazrat Inayat Khan outlined three essential paths for the aspirant: the master, the saint, and the prophet. Effortless becoming stresses the path of the saint. Core to this path is a deep attunement to an essential resonance with The Christ. This path acknowledges the power of attunement, presence, allowing, truth, insight, healing, which ultimately blossoms as an unique embodiment of the powers of the Comos. This path is not of mastery. It is not an overcoming. It is not the pursuit of an ideal. It is a resolution of conflict and an embracing of truth. Implicit in the saying of Jesus noted above is the faith that behind the universe and its manifold manifestations is a deep intelligence guiding it to its ultimate fulfillment.

This retreat will quicken, orient, and facilitate within each participant  a dynamic of graceful awakening that comes through presence, insight, savoring, assimilating, and healing.

Sufism In the 21st Century: The Presence of the Green Man Asheville, North Carolina

Sufism in the 21st Century: The Presence of the Green Man
Weekend Workshop with Himayat Inayati

Date: January 14 – 15, 2012
Time: 10 AM – 5 PM daily
Cost: $125.00
Place: Odyssey Community School, 90 Zillicoa Street, Asheville, North Carolina 28801

Drawing on the teaching of presence and sacred relationships from the illuminative philosophy of the great Sufi masters Shihab al-Din Suhrawardi (1155-91) and Ibn al Arabi (1165-1240) and leaping forward to include the 20th & 21st century work of chemist and earth scientist James Lovelock, deep ecologist Stephan Harding and eco-theologian Father Thomas Berry, Himayat will present a weekend exploration of the gift, indeed the absolute need, of Sufism in the 21st century.  There are several Sufi renderings of Khidr, the green man in the desert, the one who taught Moses and others about appropriate relationships that create, bind, nurture, and evolve the cosmos. Today, the presence of the Green Man is of critical importance!  Through weaving the teachings of these Sufi masters and the post-modern work of these great pioneers of deep and emergent ecology, this weekend will open a portal of compassionate possibility in an era of ever greater alienation and destructive objectivity in human – planetary relationships. This workshop will quicken and empower a realization that every aspect of life from atoms, to the planet, to the Cosmos, is alive, sentient, and seeking personal and collective fulfillment. This weekend will explore humanity’s role in a universe that is totally alive.

“When the cry of the planet reaches a certain pitch it shakes the very throne of God in heaven” Hazrat Inayat Khan

There is a light of guidance that might be called the mind of God, the light of Divine Intelligence, or the Spirit of Guidance. This light illumines the whole cosmos and speaks from every element of the cosmos. In humans this light might be called the highest faculty of the soul. It speaks most clearly to the mature soul and has spoken most fully through those we have called God’s prophets. Today the planet, indeed all of life, suffers the most urgent need for humanity to develop this faculty and a willingness to hear and follow this light. Our weekend together will be an exploration on the dynamics of the Spirit of Guidance.

Sacred Ecology: A Sufi Perspective with Himayat Inayati The Abode of the Message, New Lebanon, NY

Website: https://www.theabode.org

What do the great Sufi mystics of the 12th century have to teach us about the environmental crisis of our times? How do their brilliant insights complement the novel contemporary ideas of deep ecology and Father Thomas Berry’s theological cosmology? Himayat Inayati, a senior Sufi Order teacher, will weave these two strands together through discourse and practice in pursuit of a sacred ecology, a way to address one of the most urgent needs of our time.

Using “Physicians of the Heart” as our core text, while using contemplative practice drawn from various Sufi teachers, this series will offer each participant a direct experience of the Divine through Its various qualities. These qualities are aspected throughout the Cosmos as its very structure, and through the infinite variety of relationships that are the ever-evolving Cosmos.  These qualities are aspected and develop within us as our divine inheritance. These qualities are shared and experienced in greater wholeness at the transpersonal as well as the quantum level. They support ego maturation, nurturing individual development from unconscious, instinctive, reactive ego operation, to spacious, active, life giving and creative ego operation. By awakening to and enjoying these Divine Qualities we all grow in Divine Presence and spiritual fulfillment. Each of the following weekends will emphasize a specific level of these qualities. Each week is a complete module in itself, which stands in its own integrity and yet leads to an experience of greater awakening and fulfillment when related to the other three weekends. Participants are welcome to one, some, or all weekends, as their personal life allows.

Realizing Peace, Harmony, and Fulfillment in an Incessantly Changing World Odyssey Community School, 90 Zillicoa Street, Asheville, North Carolina 28801

Realizing Peace, Harmony & Fulfillment in an Incessantly Changing World

In this workshop we will explore insights and outlooks of the Raphaelite Work™ with its founder, Himayat Inayati.

Today’s world is changing so fast and offers so many challenges both collectively and personally, that contemporary life can be experienced by many as a crisis, with no clear sense of where they are going or why. Disorienting and alarming as such a time may seem, it can also initiate a fresh outlook, a new beginning, and a positive change-for the planet, the nation, the community and, of course, the individual. Such a critical time is best navigated with creativity, an experience of inner freedom and space, and with the felt ability to employ personal choice with clarity and optimism.

The Raphaelite Work™, developed by Himayat many years ago as a means of healing self and others, offers tools that empower individuals with a direct experience of inner freedom and space. It supports individual transformation and healing processes, and nurtures clarity in consciously creating a more coherent, fulfilling and healthy life.

During this two-day workshop with Himayat, we will practice compassionate presence, natural breath, somatic inquiry and strengthen our capacity to hold cognitive dissonance. We will hone these tools to explore the threshold of perceived personal limits and the power of divine witness to catalyze and transform our unique human experience.

To register, please send your check for $125 to John Johnson, PO Box 17578, Asheville, North Carolina 28816.    If you plan to register at the workshop, please send an e-mail to office@universal-awakening.org with your intent to attend.  For more information, call (828) 713–1832.

Himayat has taught mysticism and spiritual healing in 14 different countries. He is the founder and president of Universal Awakening, and is Headmaster of the Odyssey Community School . Himayat presently facilitates the Sufi Education Concentration, an on-line discussion regarding spirituality and education with Ruhaniat and Sufi Order preschool–college educators.

Comments from previous seminar participants:

“Himayat’s teaching is lucid, accessible, and humorous, always orienting the ancient mystical teaching of the major world spiritual traditions toward solutions of contemporary issues.”

“Doing practices and cultivating awareness with his support feels natural, practical, and fun. Just one thing he mentioned has supported my growth all year.”

“Himayat is an inspiring leader and healer with a depth of soulfulness and brilliant ability to teach healing and spirituality.”

“He creates transformative workshops that expand your inner dimension. You will undoubtedly learn useful things and acquire useful skills but the main thing you will uncover is often unexpected, soft and sweet, something that has always been part of you but was hidden.”

”Presence…is there anything more compelling? I know of no other way to describe what possesses me to spend an entire weekend with a group of people to be guided by Himayat through a series of elegantly simple and profoundly nurturing transformational breath-based practices. I’m always amazed by the experience of reconnection with creativity, joy and peace that I take home from each gathering with Himayat.”

“Someone once told me that there are two kinds of workshops ‘Awareness Workshops’ in which you receive useful information and ‘How To’ workshops in which you learn to do something useful.  Those narrow definitions do not apply to Himayat's workshops.  His teachings help you redefine your self in a way that is difficult to describe. His transformative workshops expand your inner dimensions into a very accepting and expansive space that supports your growth.  You will learn useful skills, and the unexpected that is soft and sweet, something that has always been part of you but was hidden.” (Jalil Buechel)

Himayat Inayati, M.S., ThD., founded the first Sufi Order Center in Florida in Miami, August 1975, leading the Dances of Universal Peace at the Temple of Yoga in Coconut Grove – also, in Tampa and Naples, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville on a regular basis 1975-1976. Ibn al Arabi is a particularly subtle and deep thinker, making his teaching difficult for many to access. Himayat is gifted in presenting difficult teaching, such as Ibn al Arabi’s, in a manner that is accessible and useful to modern and post-modern thinking. This unique workshop is open to students of Sufism and will be useful to anyone seeking to awaken to deeper realms of reality and to refine their meditation practice, whether he or she is a Sufi or not.

Looking Through the Eye of the Heart
Presented by Himayat Inayati, M.S., Th.D.

“O Allah allow me to see things as they truly are.” Prayer of the Prophet Mohammad

“Man's understanding shows the depth of his heart. Man's perception shows the length of his heart.” Hazrat Inayat Khan

Manifestation is a grand theophany! The forms that appear to us, that which we see through our eyes are caricatures of a great mystery. The Sufis awaken us to a wondrous faculty located in the subtle heart that allows us to unlock the door to the divine treasury - the eye of the heart. This three-hour session offers an orientation to this gift and to the manner of its employment.
